What’s wrong with me?
Well if you’re anything like I was, this isn’t the first time you’ve asked this question! Maybe it haunts you on a regular basis—and we can work on finding relief. But hey, I have a better question for you: what do you wish was different?
We are all shaped by our experiences and relationships beginning from the time we enter the world. Therapy will help you understand the roots of the things that aren’t working for you in past experiences, then make the changes you want using your intelligence and other strengths. How do I know if I need therapy? Will therapy help me?
People come to therapy when they’ve had enough. They haven’t been able to change things on their own and are ready to do something about it. You may be interested because you’re feeling lost, lonely, afraid, even downright miserable.
Though I can’t promise exact results from therapy, it does amazing things for the person who doesn’t quit and is willing to work through the issues many never acknowledge. And the beautiful part is you don’t have to do it alone.

How can you help me? What steps will you take with me?
First, I will ask bunch of questions as part of a 60-minute Intensive Assessment. This is where I begin to understand who you are and what you want.
So we set some goals. Then we direct the process together through a natural flow of discussion about the past, present, and future. I will be responsible for keeping our therapy aligned with your goals and checking-in on our progress regularly.
What should I expect to get out of this?
I regularly share my knowledge, experience, and current research with my clients. In general, I aim to help you become aware of why you do the things you do…then that you have options. You can begin to consciously make the choices you want instead of helplessly repeating the same mistakes.

Isn’t therapy for crazy people?
YES. No, I’m kidding. You’d be surprised how many people have gone and continue to go to therapy AND by who goes to therapy. I wouldn’t be shocked if your close friends and family have been in therapy without you knowing!
The most successful people haven’t gotten where they are without working through personal issues with therapy, mentorship, coaching or all of the above. I’ve done plenty of work in therapy myself!
NewVu Therapy is about learning about yourself and removing blocks to help you achieve what you want in life…and do it more efficiently.
How long will it take?
I wish I could offer a clear-cut answer, but it’s just not that simple. Ultimately this depends on you—-what you want out of therapy, your commitment to coming, your effort between sessions, and the things that brought you here in the first place.
We will regularly talk about where we are in our goals and decide together how things are going. Typically, after a few sessions of assessment I can suggest an idea of where we we’re headed. We regroup to tweak our plan for therapy after around six to eight sessions.
